My name is Blake Baker, President of Ottawa Noon Rotary, and I want to Thank You for visiting our page. Ottawa Noon Rotary is the premiere civic organization of Ottawa, IL, comprised of Business Owners, Executives, Managers and Leaders of our Community. We have existed for over a hundred years and have a long history of contributing time and money to a number of activities and organizations. We meet every Wednesday, at noon, at the Knights of Columbus Rivers’ Edge at 401 W Main St.
GLOBAL GRANTS
2012 - 2013 – International Rotary Grant awarded to outfit the Glory Primary School in the Kamwenge District of Uganda, that was built through the generosity of Ottawa residents John and Debbie Damron. Primary components of the grant were outfitting the school; a new and well-stocked library; the school playground; a maize milling machine to make the community sustainable with training and supplies to distribute the maize to feed school children, the community and to market to surrounding areas. The community has been deemed a model community

Ottawa Noon Rotary participates in the Community Grants Program, having funded many projects independently and in tandem with the Ottawa Sunrise Club.

We donate more than $10,000 each year to be given to community organizations such as the Starved Rock Regional Center, (formerly Easter Seals); Ottawa Food Pantry; the Dictionary Project; Youth Service Bureau; Ottawa Friendship House; Pleasant View, the Ottawa YMCA, and other's have submitted requests.
Ottawa Noon Rotary created the Ottawa Riverwalk, partnered with the United Way of Eastern LaSalle County to establish the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at what was Ottawa Regional Hospital, now OSF. We put the LOBSTER in the Wine, Jazz and Lobster Festival; created the John C. Harbeck Memorial Scramble ("Get your John On" ) and received the Rotary International Changemaker Award in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013.
We sponsored the 50/50 for Pleasant View at the annual Ragtime on the River event.
Partnered with the Ottawa Elks Club to fund the dental program at Friendship House.
Our latest commitment is a $75,000 pledge to the new YMCA in Ottawa. We will be meeting there upon completion of the new campus.
